A one-week National Level ISTE Workshop “for Coordinators on Analog Electronics” was organized at IIT, Kharagpur in association with IIT, Bombay from April 1st to 5th, 2013 under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

The objective of thisworkshop was to provide a complete orientation on the methodology of teaching-learning in the areas of “Semiconductor Devices ( BJT and MOSEFT)” “Single and Multi stage amplifiers, Power amplifiers”; “Differential amplifier”, “Feedback”, Stability and Oscillators” etc. Identification of common syllabus on Analog Electronics, discussion of laboratory environment & the experiments along with nature of tutorials and use of the learning management system were the issues discussed deliberately during the workshop.

Prof. Anindya Sundar Dhar, Prof. Pradip Mandal, Dr. Sankar Kumar Som, Prof. Somnath Sengupt and Prof. Achintya Halder from the Department of Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering, IIT Kharagpur talked about descriptive analysis of differential amplifiers and Stability & Oscillators. Other eminent academicians Dr. D. B. Pathak and Dr. D. K. Sharma from IIT Bombay highlighted the analytical approach of understanding various circuits of Analog Electronics with explanation of design parameters of MOSFET.

More than 220 workshop coordinators from various colleges across the country participated in the workshop. Mr. Surender Dhaka, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. On 5th April 2013, during valedictoryceremony, Dr. K. Moudgalya Hon’ble Chief Guest from the Deptt. of Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay, highlighted the efforts being put in by IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur to make the NMEICT project a success and gave away the certificates to the coordinators. The workshop was useful and informative as the participants learnt about various teaching approaches in the field of Engineering and Technology.
