4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

ON

“NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN TRANSMISSION , DISTRIBUTION, LOAD DISPATCH & COMMUNICATION”

 

 

Two Faculty members from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Prof. (Mrs.) A. N. Mahajan and Mr. Ajit Kumar, represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in 4th International Conference on “New technologies in transmission , distribution, load dispatch & communication” organized by Power Grid India supported by Ministry of Power, Govt of India in association with Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufactures’ Association (IEEMA ) and Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP) during 3th-5th April 2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The objective of this conference was to provide an excellent global opportunity for researchers, policy makers, consultants, power utilities, and manufacturers etc to share various upcoming technologies in the field of Transmission, Distribution, Smart grid, distribution & renewable integration.

Inaugurating the conference Mr. P. Uma Shankar, Secretary Ministry of Power, Govt of India shared the concepts and applications of latest technologies in the field of load dispatch and transmission. Mr A. S. Bakshi, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority briefed regarding increasing demand in the power sector and talked about innovative technologies to improve distribution of power. Mr R. N. Nayak, Chief Managing Director (CMD) PowerGrid also delivered a talk on proactive work plans and implementation by Power Grid.

A number of papers were presented on the themes of Emerging Trends in Substation Technology”, “Emerging trends in transmission line Technology”, “Emerging trends in HVDC & Facts Technology”, “Emerging trends in Smart Grid & Renewable Energy”, “Emerging trends in Disdtribution & Energy Efficiency”, “Transformers”, “Overhead Lines”, “Materials for Electro-Technology”, “Equipment (Other than Transformers)”, Substations & Insulation Co-Ordination” under the august presence of experts from India and abroad like Yukiyasu Shirasaka, Japan and Co-Chairman Dr. S. K. Aggarwal, ED, Powergrid; Eiichi Zaima, Japan and Co-Chairman Mr. Gopal Ji, AGM, Powergrid; Michael Muhr, Austria and Co- Chairman Mr. Jithin Sunder, GM, BHEL; Hiroki Ito, Japan and Co-Chairman Mr. Gopa Srinivas, Head R&D, Siemens, Auranabad; Terry Krieg Australia and Co-Chaiman Mr. S. Victor, AddI, GM, Powergrid.
