EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

A Summer Practical Training Program on “Embedded Systems” was conducted by Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in association with Computer Maintenance Corporation (CMC) Academy, New Delhi- a TATA enterprise from 24th June to 16th July, 2013.

The objective of this comprehensive program was to provide practical oriented training to the students on various technical topics viz. Operating System Concepts, C & C++ on Windows & Linux, 8/32 Processors, Networking Concepts, Device Drivers, Software Skills, Project making etc.

During this program the students were trained by Mr. Prateek Prakash, trainer from CMC Academy, New Delhi. Besides giving practical exposure to the participants, he divided them into five groups where each group was provided with a unique project like Metro Train Prototype, RFID based Attendance cum Security System, DTMF based Controlled Area, DTMF based Controlled Wireless Robot, RFID based Library Management System. CMC Academy also monitored the performance of every student with the help of regular tests and presentations. The process of evaluation was so designed that the mentor could easily identify the students who may work on “Live Projects”.

The program concluded on 16th July, 2013 in the august presence of Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mir Nasser Hussain, Dean Academics, and other dignitaries -Ms. Deepika Yadav, Mr. Rupesh Mishra and Mr. Prateek Prakash from CMC Academy, New Delhi. The student coordinator, Sukhwinder Kaur welcomed them all and Project Coordinator, Anuj Yadav threw some light on the course contents, evaluation process and projects undertaken in impressive manner.

Winners of the training program- Ravi Ahuja, Anshul Patro and Anuj Yadav from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department and Aayushi Agrawal and Abhi Tanwar from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department were announced to be given an exclusive opportunity to work on Live Projects at CMC Academy, New Delhi without any charges.

The training program was very much useful to the budding technocrats as they practiced with a number of latest software and fabricated various technical projects as well.
