ELECTRONICS ROCKS

With an aim to create India’s most exciting platform for its electronics design engineering community, the second edition of Electronics Rocks 2013 was held at NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bangalore on 5th-6th October 2013, organised by Electronics For You. More than 1300 delegates including engineers, industry experts, academicians and students attended the workshops and presented their innovative projects in this event.

Six students Mohit Sharma, Manish Saini, Kulshreshta Yadav, Deepanshu Gupta, Prateek Yadav and Divyansh Sharma from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon demonstrated their project “3 E Transformer” and delivered a presentation on the “Women Security Bracelet”.

A number of themes like Turn your Product Idea into a Prototype, the Ar-duino Way, How to Build your Own Industrial Robot, 90 Minutes to Build Your First Android App, first Arduino Program &Interface; Multiphysics for Design of Electronic Devices,Build a Wireless Robot in 60 minutes and Innovative Embedded Systems were taken up.

Sessions on the Internet of Things (IoT) were taken by various technocrats lke:

1. Automotive IoT: Connected Car Technologies by Mr. Kartik Gopal, General Manager, Mobility Solutions & Business Develiopment, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles.

2. Leverage Wi-Fi for IoT Project by Mr. Jithu Niruthambath, Director, Calixto Systems.

3. How to design an IoT Enabled Security System by Mr. T. Anand, MD, Knewron.

4. Bluetooth 4.0 & IoT by Mr. Janardan Revuru, Project Manager, Hewlett-Packard.

Sessions on Raspberry Pi Products were taken by Mr. Ravi Pagar, MD, Element14; Mr. John Cole, Founder, Dexter Laboratories; Mr. Hari D.K., Co-Founder, FluxGen Technologies; Mr. Pallab Maji, Senior Research Fellow, NIT Rourkela; Mr. P. Chow Reddy and Mr. S.A. Sadiq, from ICOMM Tele Pvt Ltd.

It was a good learning experience for theparticipants to learn innovative ideas of Project fabrication and designing.
