CSI REGIONAL STUDENT CONVENTION

Eighteen B. Tech students of 3rd and 5th semester, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in CSI Regional Student Convention (Regional-1). CSI Regional Student Convention is a Tech Fest which is organized every year all over India. This time CSI Convention (Regional-1) was held at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad from 14th -15th November 2014, in which students from different colleges from seven states participated.

The convention offers excellent opportunities to the students to manifest their technical proficiency and prowess through different competitions and facilitates the evolution of students to productive professionals. The event witnessed the glittering presence of luminaries from various fields – Shri. Dinesh kumar Goel, Chairman RKG Group of institution, Prof. S.S Mantha, Chairman, AICTE and Mr. R.K. Khandal, Vice-Chancellor, UPTU to name a few. Many industry experts also graced the occasion with their presence. These esteemed experts also delivered guest lectures on the subject “Digital India-Role of Generation Y” which were attentively listened by all participants.

There were thirteen teams which took active part in poster presentation on current issues like wearable computing, chemical computing, satellite system, wireless communication etc. The jury comprised examined the posters presentation and selected the best three teams of two members each in order of merit. DCE, Gurgaon team of Mandisha Sharma and Ambar Kumar of 3rd Sem CSE branch got 2nd position in the Poster Presentation on “Wearble Computing.”

With immense zeal and enthusiasm the DCE students showed their hidden talents and creativity in contests like Posterio, LAN Gaming, e-Warz, Axon, Quiz-o-caf@c, Fun Events, Code Debugger etc. Students also participated in Fun Events such as “Ballon Burner,” in which Vishal from 3rd Sem CSE obtained 1st postion. Overall, the event proved to be very knowledgeable and fruitful.
