ONLINE TEST

Training and Placement Cell of Dronacharya College Of Engineering, Gurgaon in association with CoCubes.com , conducted series of online test for final year B.Tech students of all branches in the month of September and October 2013.

The tests aimed to check the employability and the preparedness level of the students before the advent of the placement season. Different tests namely Quantitative Aptitude Test, Analytical Reasoning Test, English Usage Test, Technical Domain Test, Common Management Admission Test, Common Admission test and Employability Aptitude Test were conducted.

The students of Dronacharya made college proud by securing remarkable positions in various test at national level.

Syllabus for the tests were:

1. Quantitative Aptitude: (60 minutes)

Concepts of mathematics including Time & Work, Speed & Distance, Algebra, Equations, Progressions, Profit & Loss, Ratios, Averages, Geometry, Data Interpretation, Probability, Venn diagram, Statistics, Interest, Profit loss, Ratio, Percentages, Number Systems, Mensuration, Trigonometry.

2. Analytical Reasoning: (60 minutes)

Visual Reasoning, Statement & Conclusions, Relationships, Logical Reasoning, Attention to Details, Flowcharts, Data sufficiency, Coding-decoding, Series, Odd one out, Analogies.

3. English Usage: (60 minutes)

Reading Comprehension, Grammar including Articles , Prepositions, Sentence Correction, Speech, Tenses, Verbal Ability including Synonyms, Antonym, Spellings, Idioms and Phrases.

4. Domain Test: (30 minutes)

• Civil Engineering:
• RCC Design, Construction Scheduling, Geo-informatics, Hydraulics & Hydraulic Machines, Geotechnical Eng., Water Resource Engineering.

• Mechanical Engineering:
• Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Theory of Machines, Kinematics of Machines, I.C. Engines & Compressors, SOM, Engineering material, Meteorology.

• Electronics Engineering:
• Microprocessor & Microcontrollers, Digital Electronics, Integrated Circuits, Electronic Circuits, Electronic Devices, EMMI, Network Analysis & Synthesis, Control System, Communication System.

• Electrical Engineering:
• Electrical Machines, High Voltage Engineering, Network Analysis & Synthesis, EMMI, Control System, Elements of Power System, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics.

• Computer Science & IT Engineering:
• C, C++, OOPS Concepts, Data Structures, DBMS concepts, Operating System Concepts, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Networking Concepts, Computer Architecture.

5. Employability Aptitude Test: (60 minutes)

• Is a comprehensive test including all the above sections

6. Common Management Admission Test: (3 Hours)

Aptitude test:

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Ability (QA & DI) : QA is a test of mathematical skills and problem solving ability covering Arithmatic, Alzebra and Geometry topics like Linear & Quadratic Equation, Simple & Compound Interest, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Number System, Time, Speed, Work & Distance, Inequalities, Permutation & Combination, Arithmetic Progression, Function, Statistics, Set theory, Ratio & Mixture, Data Sufficiency, Circle and Rectangle, Co-ordinate Geometry, Mixtures and Allegation & Mensuration. DI is a test of ability to analyse and interpret specific information from Tables, Activity Charts, Bar Charts, Pie Charts, Frequency Polygon and Graphs.

Logical Reasoning Ability:

A test of Verbal, Analytical & Logical Reasoning skills on topics like Arrangement, Coding-Decoding, Series, Visual Reasoning, Deductive Reasoning, Blood Relation, Number/Letter Series, Direction, Venn Diagram, Syllogisms, Strong-Weak arguments, Clocks and Calendars.

Language Comprehension Ability:

A test of English Usage and Comprehension which includes topics like Grammar, Vocabulary, Verbal Reasoning, Antonym/Synonym, Sentence Correction/Completion, Critical Reasoning, Short & Long Passage Comprehension, Syllogism, Arguments, Conclusions, Paragraph Completion, Jumbles, Analogy and Deductive Reasoning.

General Awareness Ability:

A test of General Knowledge covering topics like current affairs, economy, business, politics, history, geography, sports, events, awards, science, books and authors, economics, etc.
