CLEANLINESS AWARENESS PROGRAM

On 2nd October 2014, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised Cleanliness Awareness Program as a part of “Swachh Bharat Mission” 2014. The program was an initiated by NSS Centre.

Addressing the volunteers, the Chief-guest Hon’ble Dr. Satish Yadav said that today’s program is the first step to achieve the goal of Clean India envisaged by the Father of the Nation and also it would be a true tribute to him on his 150th birth anniversary to be celebrated in the year 2019. He reiterated that undoubtedly the change begins at home. Every citizen of the country should contribute to maintain cleanliness and think of progress rather than waiting for the Government to make this plan successful.

The Principal Prof.(Dr.) B.M.K Prasad appealed the staff and students to participate, engage and involve in Swachh Bharat Mission 2014. He called upon everyone to do his utmost to make a success of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' launched by the government to ensure hygiene, waste management and sanitation across the vicinity.

Addressing the volunteers, the Program Convener and HoD (Applied Sciences & Humanities Department) Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav emphasised that India can revive its core values by adopting unique and principled lifestyle. He stressed that Clean India Campaign is a nationalist inclusive campaign and requires people’s participation at all levels. He also urged that the best contribution from all strata of the society can only help visualise the dream come true.

An oath was administered by Hon’ble Chairman to all staff and students of the college to remain committed towards cleanliness and devote 100 hours per week to ‘voluntary work’ for the same.

Under the leadership of Principal, all NSS Volunteers, staff & Students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon voluntarily involved in cleanliness drive.
