The faculty members Mr. Ashish Kr. Luhach, from Information Technology Department and Mr. Hans Raj from Computer Science Engineering Department represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in a one-day workshop on “Cisco India Networking Academy Conference & IPv6 Fundamentals - 2013” organised by Cisco Systems Inc, USA at Amity University, Noida on 13th September 2013. The objective of this program was to train the faculty members and instructors regarding the applications of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for imparting technical knowledge.

Inaugurating the program, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Noida stated, “The Cisco Networking Academy demonstrates the power of cloud computing in education by utilizing the network to engage 1 million users each day in discovering the power of teaching and learning ICT skills. Students receive the same quality of education globally through e-learning curriculum, labs and online assessments that are designed to prepare them for internationally recognized certifications and successful careers in a variety of industries.”

The distinguished speakers Mr. Markus Schwertel , Regional Manager, SIG-APAC, Cisco Systems,USA; Ms. Anuradha, Program Manager, SIG, Cisco System; Sreevalsan M., Head ICTS, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham enlightened the participants on “CCNA Routing & Switching Overview”, “IPv4 and IPv6: Similarities and Differences”, “Routing – RIPV1, RIPV2, EIGRP & OSPF”, “IPv6 Routing and ACLs”, “Academy Connection – A Deep dive, Packet Tracer Workshop, Passport 21 and Aspire Game”, “Academy Evolution changes” etc.

The workshop was useful as the participants learnt and practiced ICT as an important tools for E-learning, online examinations, online evaluation, project designing etc.
