YOUTH VOTERS FESTIVAL

The Youth Voters Festival was organized by the NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 14th September, 2015. Seven students of various branches were deputed on Duty as “Campus Ambassadors” under guidance of Nodal Officer Prof. (Dr) R.C.Sharma.

The State Govt. Of Haryana has taken initiative so that there is maximum participation of Youth in Systematic Voters Education & Electoral programme. The Govt. has formulated the policy through its Electoral regional offices to facilitate the Youth Voter in their active participation during elections. A meeting was conveyed under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon where he briefed on organizing of Youth Voter Festival in colleges.

In the Youth Voters Festival, 2015 students who will be above the age of eighteeen as on 1st January 2016 were invited at the “Voter Information Centre” and made aware about the procedure of enrolling their name in the voter list. They were also highlighted on the purpose of the voter list & the importance of making a voter photo identity card. Eligible students were informed about Form No. 06 (Application for inclusion of name in electoral roll) along with necessary documents required for enrolling their name in the voter list. Students actively participated in the Youth Voter Festival with lots of enthusiasm.
