YOUTH PROGRAMME

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association organized the Delhi Machine Tool Expo & JAGRUTI - IMTMA Youth Program at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 21st August 2015. Two students Ms. Ruby Sharma (15378) and Mr. Rahul Yadav (15367) from Mechanical Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

The inauguration speech was delivered by Mr. Rajashekhra HV, Director of IMTMA. He explained the objective behind this event was to orient the engineering students with the machine tool industry and to familiarize them with the technological happenings in this industry segment.

In the exhibition more than 50 companies from all over the world showcased their new inventions, ideas and techniques. The students showed maximum interest in CNC machines, drilling machines, lathe machines, different robots, press machines, hexagon metrology. The exhibitors explained about the upcoming technologies that can reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of the tool.

After visiting the exhibition all the students from different colleges were taken to Micromatic Grinding Technologies Limited. In this company participants visited to shop - floor facilities where the CNC Machines were being manufactured. Large scale CNC Machines were being assembled by the workers manually. This is the largest machine tool company in India and they also supply their machine tools to other countries.
