POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION

A Poster Presentation Competition was organized by the Computer Science Department at Dronacharya College of Engineering for the students of Second year on 27th Feb, 2015. It was coordinated by Mr. Tanupriya Choudhury and Mr. Niraj Kumar, Asst. Professor from CSE Department.

The students of CSE Dept. presented their posters and explained their projects. The students explained the working, advantages, drawbacks and scope of their projects in future environment. Some of the projects presented were Handling of Operating System by gestures and voice recognition, Solar Generator, Tech Printer, Multi-Way Energy Generation in a Smarter Environment, Robot that writes Prescriptions and doles out drugs etc.

Poster presentation helps student in presenting research-in-progress in a visual format. Students gain a unique opportunity to combine visual and oral explanations of their projects. The images and text that you choose can draw the audience to learn more through one-on-one or small group conversations. The basic advantages of poster presentations are as follows. First, the title of an effective poster should quickly orient the audience, second, the poster should quickly orient the audience to the subject and purpose, third, the specific sections such as the results should be easy to locate on the poster, fourth one should design the individual sections of a poster so that they can be quickly read.

The students also got the chance to improve their communication skills and confidence. Certificates were awarded to participants.
