Industrial Visit to AppMob Technologies

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya Engineering College, Gurgaon organized an industrial visit to AppMob Technologies at Noida on 16th October, 2014. Thirty two students along with faculty coordinators Mr. Tanupriya Choudhury visited the organization.

Appmob, an Edutech company through it’s team provides courses in Mobile, Web, Hardware and Analytics for students and professionals across India. It provides training and workshops in technologies like Mobile development, Big data, Web, 3-D printing, Internet Marketing and HTML5. They also have short term courses on Robotics and hacking.

The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jayant at AppMob. The students were divided into two groups of 16 each. Each Group was given the technical session about how “Internet of Things” works and how to implement these things in real life. The technical Session was headed by Mr. Yash Mittal and Mr. Nikhil Mishra.

The speakers explained the concept of “Internet of Things”. IOT is a concept that aims to extend the benefits of the regular Internet like constant connectivity, remote controlled and sharing data.

Foodstuffs, electronics, appliances, and collectibles, all will be tied to local and global networks through embedded sensors that are “always on.” “Internet of Things” is also called “Internet of everything.” It is done via radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips, barcodes, QR (quick response) codes, and wireless connection systems like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Mr. Yash Mittal gave an introduction to the concept of Internet of Things, network Sensors, Aurdino Programming, Data transmission through Bluetooth, WIFI and RFID, ito Python Apps etc. He explained about the required setup, code and necessary software. In the second session Mr. Nikhil Mishra discussed with the participants on their ideas and lectured on how to integrate software and hardware, communication setup, control and connect through mobile apps. The participants learned to create basic apps and control hardware devices through internet or any other wireless medium.

Mr. Jayant introduced few winter internship program on above related topics which would help students of CSE Dept to work in the IOT industry. There is a huge demand for trained IOT professionals for industry.

This visit gave students exposure about opportunities in IOT industry and how exactly these industries work. It also inspired the students to be updated about the new technologies.
