INDO GERMAN SME FORUM 2014

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) programme of GIZ, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Small Industries Development Bank of India, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly organized the 2nd Indo-German SME Forum on 22nd & 23rd September, 2014 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi. Ms. Pratibha Sharma, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

The Indo - German SME Forum provides a platform for public authorities, research and academic institutions, cluster/industry associations and service providers from India and Germany to share knowledge, expertise and experience and to foster cooperation and collaboration. The forum focussed on the theme of “Cluster Internationalization” and provided a platform to foster linkages between public authorities, cluster / industry associations and other service providers from India and Germany.

The inaugural session started with the welcome address by Mr. Stefan Helming, Country Director, GIZ. Dr. Martin Hanz, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) and Head of the Department for Economic and Global Affairs, German Embassy shared his views on Indo - German Development Cooperation: Fostering Indo-German Exchange. The inauguration ceremony continued with introduction to MSME Development Framework by Mr. Madhav Lal, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The forum also requested to support the formulation of institutional networking and joint cooperation projects followed by formation of specific working groups - involving stakeholders from India and Germany. This event mainly focused on the Policy Makers, Associations, Chamber, Academic and Technical Institutes, Bigger Corporates, Incubators, MSME Service Providers.

An online discussion session was conducted to share the views on “Cluster Internationalisation” where the participants shared knowledge, expertise and experience and to foster cooperation and collaboration.

Lastly, Mr. Wolfgang Leidig, Programme Director, MSME Programme, GIZ ended the event by sharing his views on Promotion of Innovation in SME: Project Preview.
