ITNASETSD-2013

Prof. (Dr.) R. C. Sharma, from the Dept. of Applied Sciences & Humanities of Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon presented a research paper entitled “Measurement and Trends of OH and ClO in the Atmosphere over a Tropical Region” in a two-day International Conference on “Innovative Trends in Natural/Applied Sciences and Energy Technology for Sustainable Development” (ITNASETSD-2013) organized by Krishi Sanskriti at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi from July 27th to 28th, 2013. Another faculty of the Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities Dr. Vaishali Dixit, Associate Professor also attended the conference. Through the presentation, Prof. Sharma explained the role and practical importance of OH and ClO in the atmosphere in this session. His paper was published in International Review of Applied Engineering Research (ISSN 2248-9967) Vol. 3, Number 4, 2013.

The conference was inaugurated by Dr. J. P. Sexena, Professor, School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi who laid emphasis on the need of sustainability of the environment from man-made perturbation. It was divided into seven technical sessions focusing on Environmental Sciences, Environmental Technology, Biological Science, Energy, Energy Technology, Applied Sciences & Applied Engineering Research chaired by Dr. Sanjay Sen Gupta, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research New Delhi; Dr. R. C. Sharma, Professor, Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon; Dr. Usha Mina, Indian Agricultural Research Institute New Delhi; Dr. Ratna Sen, Satya Group of Institutions, Palwal; Dr. Brij Bihari Singh, Department of Chemistry, Delhi University, New Delhi.

A total of 124 research papers were selected for oral and poster presentation during this conference. The conference was concluded by Dr. Usha Mina, Convener of the Conference and Dr. G. C. Mishra, Organizing Secretary of the conference. It was highly innovative, application oriented and knowledge based covering the fields of Environment, climate change, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, GIS, Nuclear Fusion, Disaster Management, Computational Techniques, Energy etc.
