GOOD GOVERNANCE DAY

Good Governance Day was celebrated in Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 24th Dec 2014. The event was organized in the college Seminar Hall and students and staff members of all departments participated very enthusiastically in it. The program started with the inaugural address by the Director Dr. Prof. B.M.K. Prasad. He told the participants about the benefits of good governance. Convener of the program, Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar informed all the participants that we are celebrating Good Governance Day on the birthday of our former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. After his address, the speech competition related with use of technology and innovation in promoting Good Governance was started.

Amar Saraswat of Computer Science department shared his views related with Good Governance and how e-governance can contribute in the good governance of our country. He spoke on length on various e-resources available for the citizens and government to use for good governance. His address was followed by Priyanka Mahani of ECS department, she talked about G2C, C2G, G2G and G2B models of governance where G represents Government, C represents Citizens and B represents Business.

Their addresses were followed by the addresses of many students who all shared their ideas about good governance. The second session was on the new ideas given by the students on use of Technology and Innovation in promoting Good Governance. The jury comprised of the head of the departments who decided the winners for both the Oratory Skill competition and the best Ideas submitted for use of ICT in Good governance. Director Dr. Prof. B.M.K. Prasad distributed the awards to the winners in the last. Cash award of Rs. 15,000/-, 10,000/- & 5,000/- were given to the prize winners in both the categories.

The program ended with the vote of thanks from the convener.
