EXTENSION LECTURE ON “ART OF RESEARCH PAPER WRITING AND PUBLICATION”

On 10th January 2015, the *Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities and Civil Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon* jointly organised a one-day extension Lecture on *“Art of Research Paper Writing and Publication”.* The lecture was delivered by *Dr. Sanjay Sen Gupta*, Principal Scientist Journal of Scientific & Industrial Research Periodical Division NISCAIR, Dr K. S. Krishnan Marg New Delhi-110012.





In the opening remarks of the extension lecture, the *Principal Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad* shared that writing a research paper and getting published is an essential aspect of academics since long. He emphatically stated that today it qualitative research papers are in demand. Therefore it is obvious to contribute the papers in reputed and refereed journals with high impact factor.






Welcoming the guest speaker, the convener Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav expressed that in order to contribute a research paper selection of topic, choice of journal,Revising, Editing, Proofreading of the paper are pre-requisites for a seasoned academician.





During the lecture, the invited speaker Dr. Sanjay Sengupta highlighted the basic structure, lay out of a research paper preferably for NISCAIR Journals. He stated that analysis of consistency in the entire manuscript, proper coherence, citation, ethical attributes etc for being a good research paper writer.





He further elaborated that as a writer of scientific research papers one should know to assess when, and what to write; and the paper must include title , authors name and address, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results & discussions, conclusion, acknowledgement and list of references.





Around 100 faculty members attended the seminar. The lecture was informative has the attendees learnt more about impact factor, SCI-indexing, and format of scientific research paper. Prof.(Dr.) Anand Vardhen from Civil Engineering Department expressed his heart-felt gratitude towards the invited speaker, Hon’ble Principal, Convener and faculty members for extending every support as well as participating in the extension lecture.
