Do You Know Google

Google Student Club of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a quiz about Google titled “DO YOU KNOW GOOGLE” on 13th October 2014. The quiz received an overwhelming response with about 300 students divided in 97 teams participating in the competition. The objective of this competition was mainly to create awareness about Google, its products, ventures, initiatives, communities and the history of Google. The quiz was designed by the Google Student Ambassador and the Google Student Club Members.

The quiz was organized in three rounds :

In the first round basic multiple choice questions about google were displayed through the projector and teams were given 60 seconds for each question to write down their answers. The screening for second round was done on the basis of marks secured by each team in the first round. Out of the 97 teams only 27 teams qualified for the second round.

In the Second Round the difficulty level of the questions were increased to test the participant’s knowledge and only 9 teams made it to the third round. The the students were pushing the limits of their wits to grab the winning position.

The Third round was basically a mix of video and multiple choice questions’. Videos on Google projects and products were shown to the students and questions were asked based on it. Finally the students with maximum correct answers were announced as the winners on 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions.

The students securing the First position were Mohit Arya, Bharat Malhotra, Kamal Kathuria from Vth Sem CSE, second position was secured by Vinayak Bhardwaj, Ravi Ojha, Tushar Vasan from IT VIIth sem, third position was secured by Rana Rahul, Vishal Sharma & Shubham Kumar IIIrd Sem CSE Department. Prof.Vishal Bharti, Head of Computer Science Engineering Department declared the results. He motivated the students by his words of wisdom. By this Quiz Competition the students got to know about the Google and that Google is not just a search engine but has a lot more significance.
