Dr. Suchitra Deswal, Associate Professor from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented a paper titled English Language in Global Perspective in a two-day National Seminar on RELEVANCE OF INTER-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH IN HIGHER EDUCATION (RIAHE-2014) held on 12th-13th November 2014 at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Haryana. The seminar was jointly organized by Department of Management, Department of English and Department of Psychology of the university and sponsored by Directorate of Higher Education, Haryana. The objective of this seminar was to provide a platform to academicians, researchers and practitioners to deliberate on the need of multi-disciplinary approach to knowledge and research.

The seminar commenced with the Inaugural Session which witnessed the glittering presence of luminaries from various fields. The Chief Guest at the National Seminar was Hon’ble Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana. Introduction to the Seminar was given by Prof. Rishipal. Welcome address was delivered by the patron of the Seminar Major General (Dr.) Ranjit Singh, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Vice-Chancellor, CRSU, Jind. Key Note Speaker at the seminar was Mr. P. C. Patanjali, former Vice-Chancellor, Pruvanchal University, Jaunapur and Mr. T. M. Bhagalpur University, Bihar. It was followed by the address of Member Parliament Mr. Ramesh Kaushik. In the end, the Chief Guest Hon’ble Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana addressed the august gathering that was loudly applauded by the audience.

Many parallel Sessions were conducted in two days, which were chaired by dignitaries from different Universities across the country. The Sessions had enlightening talks by delegates on different aspects of Higher Education. In all the parallel sessions conducted during the seminar, almost 175 delegates presented their papers on wide-ranging facets of inter-disciplinary approach in higher education.

The seminar was quite enriching and extensive in its themes as it brought to light how various researchers can explore and present their conceptual skills, knowledge and ideas in global readership as well as multicultural settings.
