INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav (Head of the Department) and Prof. (Dr.) Y.S.Yadav from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in the International Conference on Electron Microscopy and XXXV Annual Meeting of the Electron Microscope Society of India(EMSI-2014). The conference was jointly organized by University of Delhi and Electron Microscope Society of India from 9th to 11th July, 2014.

The conference stared with the welcome address by Prof. Amitabh Mukherjee, Head, Department of Physics & Astrophysics followed by the opening remarks by Prof. R.P. Tandon, Department of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi, Delhi.

During the conference the experts, scientists and academicians from various countries disseminated their knowledge and vision particularly on the use of electron microscope. They shared that electron microscope is used to characterize the microstructure of materials with very high spatial resolution.

The conference provided a platform to the scientists, academicians and engineers working in the field of electron microscopy to showcase their work and advances made in the field of electron microscopy and its applications in various interdisciplinary branches of science.

This conference was useful as the participants got an opportunity to interact with stalwarts of field of electron microscopy across the globe. The participants also learnt that electron microscope is a powerful, versatile electron system for delivering 3D characterization of biological and biomaterials samples in cell biology, structural biology, and nanotechnology research.
