CONFERENCE ON WINNING THE FUTURE WITH INNOVATIVE EDUCATION

 

 

Six faculty members Prof. (Dr.) R.C. Sharma, Dr. Sunil Mishra, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Nandita Choudhury, Dr. Suchitra Deswal and Dr. Parul Mishra from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended 6th EDUConvex Conference on the theme of “Winning the Future with Innovative Education” organised at Air Force Auditorium, Subrato Park, New Delhi on 8th February, 2014.

 

The objective of this conference was to provide an opportunity and platform for individuals, institutions and educational professionals to participate in discussion on different aspects of educational innovation and to create a plan for innovative methods in teaching - learning process.

 

In the inaugural address of the Conference Prof. M.M. Pant, Founder, LMP Education Trust expressed that we need to be focussed on creativity and innovation as these are undoubtedly important attributes of 'human intelligence' which can do better than 'machine intelligence'.

 

The event, which focused on “Winning the Future with Innovative Education”, brought together eminent guest speakers from the world of education and business.The distinguished speakers Mr. D C Pant, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU); Mr. Kamlesh Vyas, Associate Director, Ernst & Young; Mr. Amol Arora, Director, Shemrock & Shemford group of schools, New Delhi; Mr. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur; Ms. Punam Kashyap, Director, GEMS International School; Ms. Rashmi Vij, Principal, Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar; Mr. Gaurav Loyalka & Mr. Avikshit Saras; Mr. Utkarsh Lokesh, Co-Founder, CEO, EdTechReview; Mr. Manoj Pant, CEO, Shankh Inc, USA, Former VP, Orange & Mg. Director, Roamware Inc. USA shared their strategies, approaches and ideas for imparting innovative and quality education leading to employability.

 

Each stressed the importance of using an innovative curriculum and diverse teaching strategies to give young people the skills and competencies required for future success in a changing world.

 

The conference was interesting as more than 550 attendees learnt the significance of leadership and entrepreneurship, effective skills development for employability, innovative educational and career pathways for success.
