WORKSHOP ON STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF NSQF AND OTHER SKILL DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES

 

Computer Science & Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized the Fifth ICT Workshop “National Skills Qualification Framework (Nqsf) And Other Skill Development Schemes” conducted by NITTTR Chandigarh from 23rd to 27th June 2014. The objective of this workshop was to disseminate skill-related information and knowledge among the academicians so that the students may get benefitted ultimately.

The 1st session of Day 1 the Coordinator Dr. J. S. Saini introduced about the course contents and explained its relevance to the present education. The 2nd session of the day was taken by Dr. Y. K. Anand and he discussed about “Technical and Vocational Education and Training”. The last session of the day was on “Institutional Experiences in TVET” by Dr. U. N. Roy. Each session succeeded with feedback from participating organizations.

On the second day Dr. J. S. Saini, Dr. M. P. Poonia, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh, Prof. Y. K. Anand discussed the topics like “National Skills Qualification Framework”, “Skilling India”, “Design of Curriculum of Technical Vocational Education and Training” respectively. The third day of this workshop was equally fruitful as the eminent speakers Ms. Meghali Prabhakar, Dr. S. K. Dhameja and Mr. Roshan Sunkaria expressed their views on “Aligning of Curricula of Community Colleges with Occupational Standards”, “Industry and Community Colleges: Sustainable Partnership” , “Challenges and Opportunities in TVET with special reference to NSQF”.

The 1st session of the Day 4 was taken by Dr. Poonam Syal and she discussed the various initiatives taken by Indian Government for Skill Development. The next session of the day was conducted by Dr. B. S. Ghuman on “Community College in India: Sustainable Development and success”. The last session of the day was taken by Mr. Ajay Mohan on “Community Colleges and its Status”.

The last day of the event started with discussion on “ICT and EMIS in Planning and Management of NSQF and Community College Scheme” by Mr. Arun Sood. The 2nd session of the day was on “NSQF in School and Polytechnic System”.

Finally, the event ended with Course feedback and Valedictory session. The event was graced by auspicious presence of Prof. (Dr.) M. N. Hussain, Principal, DCE Gurgaon and Prof. Vishal Bharti, Local Coordinator and HOD CSE.
