12TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The 12th Convocation Ceremony for the students of B.Tech (2009-2013 Batch) was held in Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 10th May 2014 (Saturday). The auspicious ceremony commenced with the solemn academic procession walking into the festooned Auditorium of the college with the convocation music playing in the background.

Keeping with the tradition of “Convocation Ceremony”, the ceremony started with invocation and recitation of “Saraswati-Vandana”. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Chief-Guest Prof. (Dr.) Krishan Lal, Former Director, National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and immediate past President, Indian National Science Academy; the guest of honour Dr. Debpriya Dutta, Former Director Indo-French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research and Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, Director, DCE, Gurgaon.

While delivering the Convocation Address the Hon'ble Chief-Guest Dr. Krishan Lal highlighted how knowledge has emerged as the key driver of our economy today. He expressed that India is bestowed with a unique knowledge wealth of qualified young professionals which is increasing every year and as a society, we value and nurture the knowledge building activity. He felt that the perennial source of human capital of India has to be trapped and converted into value.

At the outset, Hon'ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) M. N. Hussain welcomed the esteemed Chief-Guest, essaying the achievements of the alumni and reminding the students to follow the path of dedication, hard-work, sincerity in their chosen careers and raise the Dronacharya flag high. He also emphasised that the students should make themselves strive towards sustainable development of society as they are stewards of our nation and custodians of our tradition and values.

On this propitious occasion, a total of 300 students were awarded B.Tech. Degrees in various branches of Engineering. Having received their degrees, Dronacharyans took a pledge to remain responsible citizens and serve the cause of nation.

The convenor Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav, HOD, Applied Sciences & Humanities delivered exhortation to the Fresh Graduates. The convocation ceremony came to a close with a vote of thanks by HOD ECE Prof. Swati Jha in the august presence of the Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S.K.Yadav, all HODs, faculty and staff members.
